Recital

On June 20th I had my last recital! It's always kind of a relief to finally perform after rehearsing for months, but this time it was kinda sad! I am not sure what I am going to be doing with ballet when I go to college besides taking 1 class next semester! Thinking about stopping makes me want to cry! I love the feeling I get when I am performing, its so fun. The first act was the ballet Coppelia and I was in chardust-a hungarian dance of some sort, and then I had a solo as Prayer and then the finale. Usually the music for Prayer is sped up 20%, but at both rehearsals they were having problems with it so I was practicing with the slow version! My dance has TONS of bourrées on pointe so my feet were pretty blistery! I am also starting to get bunions-ew! Luckily, they had it fixed on the day of the recital! The second act was called Coast to Coast and I did a jazz solo to a song called bottle it up. I am so glad that I decided to do dance, it has opened up so many doors, I have made many friends, and it is so much fun! After the recital, we went to see UP which is a cute movie! It was the best day ever!

Father's Day

This is a little late, I have been so busy with the recital and everything! I will post some pictures of that later.

My Dad:

I have the best dad, he works so hard for our family everyday and comes home and works some more in the yard! He is really good at gardening, cooking, landscaping, computers, jeopardy, politics, and making funny jokes. He always plans the funnest trips to Hawaii. On Valentines Day he writes us sweet poems. He is at every recital we have encouraging us and there to greet us afterwards with a dozen roses. He teaches us responsibilty and how to save our money. It was his dream to name one of his kids Zoe, but my mom never let him, finally she agreed to let it be my middle name and I love it! When we were little he would make up fun things for us to do at home. My favorite was "Dive-in" movies where he would bring a T.V. out by the pool and we would watch a movie and he would throw swedish fish into the pool and we would dive for them and eat them. When we went to Snowflake my favorite thing to do would be to go golfing with dad. Except I didn't want to golf I just liked driving the golf carts. :) I love my dad so much and will miss him a lot when I go off to college. You're the best dad thanks for always being there for me! I love you! love brittany zoe

Graduate!

I am officially a high school graduate! It feels kind of weird I don't really want to grow up. haha The day before my grandparents came over and we had a party with an amazing ice cream cake from cold stone! Then the next day I graduated in the University of Phoenix stadium which was really cool and my grandparents came and so did my Aunt Laraine! Then we went to The Cheesecake Factory-my favorite!!

The boys have been staying with us for the past week while Brooke and Cody partied it up in Hawaii, It has been so much fun they are so cute and say the cutest things! It was sad to see them go on Saturday!

Dance Concert

We had our final high school dance concert Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. It was so sad to know on our last night that it was the last time that we would ever do those dances! Performance Dance has been such a fun experience and I will never forget the friends I have made and the fun I have had. Here are my best memories of Performance Dance:

*CALIFORNIA TRIP-This was seriously so amazing, we traveled to California, stayed in a really nice hotel, performed at Disneyland, took dance classes at an LA studio, and went to Phantom of the Opera at the Pantages theatre!
*Assemblies-We always performed our main group dance at the assemblies.

*Performances-We worked all semester making up dances and it was always so fun to be on stage and perform them in front of a crowd.

*Friends-I met so many nice people

It has been one of the best experience of my life and I will never forget it, it made my senior year amazing! Below are some pictures from the last night! Thanks to everyone who came to the shows it is so much more fun to perform when you have someone you know in the crowd! I don't have a picture of my favorite dance (80's senior dance) so I will put it up when a friend emails it to me!

A tribute to MOM!

Happy Birthday Mom!

My mom is the best mom ever! She is so amazing and yesterday was her birthday! We woke up early and dad made her breakfast then we went to Mimi's for lunch and then (since I work at Cold Stone) we decided to try one of the cakes since I get them for half off, I went and picked it up and decorated it and we ate it that night! It was so good!! We then went to a YW broadcast and watched American Idol! Here are some of the millions of things I love about my mom!

*She wakes up with me every morning and makes me a big breakfast everyday before early morning seminary!

*A couple times a month she comes home from work and buys me lunch and we eat it together!

*She is the most unselfish, kind, loving person I know! I want to be just like her.

*She cooks amazing dinners

*She is always using her preschool money for us and never for herself

*When I get off work really late she is always there waiting for me to keep me company!

*She helps me fund my ballet!

*She is so thoughful and always leaving us nice cards and treats

*She went with us to the David Archuleta concert and waited in line for 5 hours in the hot sun!

*She makes us all feel special and loved!

There are so many more things these are just a few! I love you mom you are amazing! I am going to miss you sooo much when I am away at college! Love Brittany

David Archuleta

Let me just start off with saying that I LOVE David Archuleta! He is just a genuinely nice person who is so cute! i was so excited when Aunt Laraine told us that he was giving a fireside in Mesa! We booked it down there, it was so worth it! It was funny because one of the questions was "What do you look for in an eternal companion?" His answer was a pizza analogy about how if you just ate the pizzas at the 7-11's then you would never know what other pizzas were out there and then he went on to say that someday you might go to Italy and try a real pizza...haha! what he was trying to say-date lots of people, he just took a while to make his point haha! its so funny how he gets side tracked. Now you will understand the sign I made below

We arrived at the Marquee Theatre at 1:30 and prepared ourselves for the long wait! At our place in line we should have gotten front row seats, but by the time we were about to go inside people had snuck up in front of us so we were about 4 rows back, it was still really fun, but let me tell you, David Arcuhleta fans are mean! Me and my friend Kendra were watching the concert and all of a sudden these moms with a group of about 7 screaming 13 year olds wanted to let all them go in front of us because they were shorter. (they had only waited in line for 30 minutes) When we said no they were angry and throughout the concert they would push and shove and one pulled Kendra's ponytail, rude! finally I told them that if they wanted to see they should have come earlier than us. haha!

Leslie Roy sang first, but I think all the girls were more interested in her band members than her. She sang good though and had more of a rocker tone.

Finally David kicked off the concert with my fav song of his "Touch My Hand" It was really exciting and he had so much energy that it made the whole concert amazing! My favorite song of his during the concert was this new single coming out called "Zero Gravity". After the concert we met up with Caitlin, Ally, my mom, Morgan, and Shannon and we waited for him to sign our posters! It was the best night of my life! I am always reminded of how fun concerts are after I go to them and always wonder why I haven't been to more! This summer I will defidently be going to a ton!!

While we were waiting for David to come out Leslie Roy and her band members came out and took pictures, my favorite of them was the guy with the nose ring (the drummer) he was so nice and even took a second picture when the first picture didn't turn out. Leslie Roy was also super nice she is from Ireland.

Such a fun experience concerts are the best if anyone knows any good ones let me know! I am ready to go again!

I am officially going to BYU-Idaho on the Fall-Spring track! I am currently searching for a ballet studio within walking distance, an apartment, a lap top, and clothes to survive the freezing weather. I was a bit astonished when I found out that the only type of dance they offer is advanced clogging, international dance, modern, square dancing, etc. My plan is to transfer to Hawaii within a year and room with Ashley! I compiled a list of positives and negatives of Idaho:

Positives:

1. learning to snowboard

2. friendly farmers

3.new winter wardrobe!

4. clogging

Negatives:

1. cold

2. no flip flops!

3. farther away

4.no ballet program :((

ok so this list is extremely sarcastic clogging is def not a positive... Any how, I have heard good things about BYU-Idaho and many people love it there. I know this is where I am suppost to be because I felt that I should go to this school instead of Ballet Arizona so I know it will all work out!
