Thanksgiving

Melissa and Sam were nice enough to let me drive down with them for thanksgiving and I had such a great time with my family! We had a great time shopping, going to namebrands and Oreganos, baseball and soccer games, playing minute to win it(notice the great picture of Brooke competing in her challenge-please don't kill me Brooke...)amazing food, and just spending time with everyone. On the way back to Utah we stopped in Las Vegas had in-and-out, and walked around for 2 hours. I loved it there! We walked through the Bellagio and Caesars Palace, and countless casinos. I don't know why, but I have always loved the oceans movies and 21, so it was cool to see where some of the scenes were filmed. All the statues and decorations everywhere were so cool and I definitely want to go back again soon, maybe when I have some gambling money....ha jk

I was definitely glad to get back to Rexburg safely because those roads were icy and scary! There were about 10 cars that had slid off the road while we were heading back.

I love these ladies so much!! We had a fun night last night, we drove around in Lyndee's creeper van with tinted windows doing what we call "heckling people". We just yell things out the window, pick people up sometimes, and go around party crashing. It's entertaining. Then we went to Sammy's and watched a band play. The lead singer turned out to be the teacher of the yoga class Alisha and I go to. I have to say it was a shock to see him rocking out like a mad man when in yoga he is very calm and collected. Peace, love, and rock and roll. Then we made muddie buddies and watched honey.

On Thursday we also had a girls night at my old roommate Whitney's house because she is married now!! So crazy! We had fun talking and catching up over tons of dessert.

Alisha and I have fun sending weird text messages to people from a secret number and seeing how they respond. This never gets old, we spend several nights laughing until we cry at some of these peoples responses. Ah I love it. I also think its that time of the semester where there is a little tension in the Apt and we all wanna get out and get on with our lives. Don't get me wrong we all are polite, but lets just say that the thing I will most look forward to is a clean shower with no dark hair in it. If I can just get through these last weeks and finals then I will be chillin' in Hawaii!! After that I can start teaching ballet again which will be great because I miss it!

Tricking the Roommates

Our apartment is full of tons of sweets, all the time!!! Alisha and I are sugar addicts so we are always making and eating them. It's funny though because the roommates only seem to notice Alisha eating them...

Experience #1: Laura brings home a really good chocolate cake with cheesecake and chocolate chips. Alisha and I arrived home and Laura offers us some, we eat some, and Alisha keeps saying how good it is. Laura suddenly clamps the top on the container and says "that's enough girls!"-staring particularly at Alisha. The next afternoon Laura exclaims that her huge cake is almost gone and then threatens the apartment saying, "if anyone eats anymore of this I'll rip your face off!"

Experience #2: Laura makes cookies and begins to take them off the pan, Alisha asks if she can have one. Laura nods and then adds "I only ask that you don't eat them all."

Experience #3: Our FHE sisters bring a cake over for us to hide from their roommate since they want to have a surprise party for her. Laura and Kylee walk in the door and Alisha and I are in the kitchen. They say something about the cake and I jokingly reply "Oh that was for her birthday? Alisha already had a slice!" Alisha puts on a guilty expression. They exchange looks, then I say "Just kidding, Alisha would never do that!" Then Kylee replys "welll...there does always seem to be a lot of food gone when we leave it out at night....."

Once we discovered that they thought Alisha ate a lot, we decided to dramatize it a little.
Sunday Night-8pm

I come into the kitchen and grab a Popsicle, then head to my room.

(20 minutes later)

Alisha walks into the kitchen and opens the freezer
A: "Are these Brittany's Popsicles?"
Kylee: "Yeah, yes I think so."
A: "Okay" (pulls out two)
K: "Are you eating two??!!!"
A: "haha yeah!"
(Alisha finishes off one and then starts to unwrap the second one)
K: "You really are eating two aren't you!?"
Ben: "Hey at least its no trans fat, you can eat five popsicles"
A: "yeah, no trans fat"
(Alisha takes one lick)
A: "Well, these are kinda sour"
(heads to the trash)
K: "Your just throwing it away!? Give me one!"

Alisha retreats to our room and five minutes later she heads out and grabs a bag of m&m's from the cupboard

Laura: "Dang, are you really hungry or something?"
A: "I guess so, I guess I'm just craving things"
K: "You should drink water, it's much healthier"
L: "Yeah, water has no trans fat"
A: "Ya, and no calories, oh well."
(Alisha begins tossing the M&M's up in the air and catching them in her mouth, then she grabs a huge handful of candy corn from the apartment candy bowl and begins to walk toward her room"
Ben: "ALISHA!!!"
Kylee and Laura: "Oh my GOSH!!"

Haha! We have lots of fun tricking our roommates, they probably think we are pigs, but it's so funny, after all we only will live with them one more month, so we might as well have fun and make some good memories!

Halloween

This Halloween has been fun, although my being sick put somewhat of a damper on it :(. On Friday we went to our ward party, Alisha and I were Egyptians. We went to the infamous D.I and picked out a nice gold sheet, then as we searched for a gold belt, it seemed like fate that there were 2 of exactly the same belt, haha! Then we went to Wal-mart and got ribbon and such. We had fun doing all our make-up and I loved using false eye-lashes for the first time! 2 of our roommates said Alisha's eyes didn't look "Egyptian" enough and pinned her down and added a ton!! haha! At our ward party this girl came up to Alisha and was like, "OH your such a cute little shepherd girl!!" haha! We were a mix between Egyptian, Indian, and I guess shepherd girls...

Then we were exhausted and came home and made huge bowls of potatoes and gravy, and pulled out our mattresses and watched a movie on my huge 17" laptop screen. I guess having a screen that big really hasn't turned out to be bad, in fact that combined with a Netflix membership has been invaluable up here at school, well when we have time anyway.

On Saturday we went party hopping with Jill, Shelly, and some other girls, we also went to Sammy's and there was a cool band playing. Then we went back to Jill's and watched "The Village" because every other scary movie had been checked out, go figure. Oh it was also Lyndee's birthday on Thursday so I went over there with Jill and Katie and we had dinner and a party!

The picture above is before the Ward Party-2 of my roommates and Ben.

My New Love = Zumba

Alisha and I have been going to Zumba every Wednesday night and I am in love! It is like a latin workout dance class with fun and modern music. It is so much fun! We had our friend JT go to it the other night and lets just say he was a little out of place! I must say its pretty funny to watch all these girls trying to move their hips!

The weather has actually not been as cold as last fall! Some native Idahoan's may even call it warm. It is still cold in the mornings though and lets be honest, anything below 85 degrees is below my comfort level!

Easy

One word for this semester= easy. Maybe to easy...I am so used to having homework all day everyday that I kinda miss having tons of homework all the time. Weird huh? I complain when I have a ton, and miss it when I don't. Truth is, I love to learn, I have been able to go to anat & phys tutoring for about 4 hours a week and study for it in the library another 6 and I am loving it! I love the teacher, the subject, the human body, and my Heavenly Father for creating such a masterpiece.

I am just so so happy right now and I think back to those times in my life where I was disappointed and upset and I try to think of why I was unhappy. I have come to the conclusion that you can be happy in every circumstance that you are in. Whenever I am having a bad day or looking at things negatively, I have found that service is the one way, for me anyway, to make things better. My being able to truly accept that I don't need things to happen right now and that trusting in God is a source of true happiness, has helped my to find the beauty in life and the beauty in people, rather than the small disappointments that bring me down.

Don't you just hate running out of your favorite products and not having enough money to buy them again? I am running out
of all my body cream, anyway I thought it would be fun to post what my 5 favorite products are:

1. Dolce & Gabbana: Light Blue-the best perfume, it has a citrus like smell, people always ask what I am wearing when I put on this heavenly stuff.

2. Winter Candy Apple: This lotion has such a great sweet scent, and its a perfect fall/winter scent. I am almost out of it, sad day.

3. Clinique Pore Minimizer: Brooke gave me a tiny bottle of this, I think it was a sample or something and it is a miracle worker! I am serious, I put a tiny dot of this on my nose and my pores disappear.

4. Coastal Scents Camo Concealer Quad: I love love love this product! I used to have to buy pretty pricey concealer, I have tried so many kinds, Clinique and Bobby Brown were among the better ones, but why spend over $20 on one when this one is only $8! It has lasted half a year and I am sure that it will last for at least 3 more months. The green and yellow cancels out red spots, also on blemishes to make them virtually disappear. I found out about it on my favorite beauty blog: http://www.blairfowler.blogspot.com/

5. Catwalk Headshot Shampoo and Conditioner: This stuff works so good! It smells like strawberries and fudge and is a great hydrate for my dry highlighted hair.

Anyway that was fun, and a waste of time, oh well. I got a 95% on the hardest math test of the semester by the way, so I guess this can be counted as my break from studying, Me and Alisha are heading to Utah for Conference tomorrow and we are staying with Melissa, I am SO excited!

i love it here!!

College life is great! Alisha and I are having tons of fun! As requested, mom, I have included pictures of what our room looks like...

Call me selfish, but its nice to have a roommate who has as much homework as I do! Since Alisha is doing nursing too, she is experiencing the full joy of anatomy and physiology. College is a shock from high school.

I am having fun in my anatomy and physiology class, I really just love learning about it and so its not hard to study. Except the biochem part. I went on a date last Saturday with a cute guy named Cade, we met in Anatomy and Physiology 265 last semester. It was lots of fun, we played frisbee golf and won, made pizza bombs (calzones) and played an interesting game where everyone had to look stupid, ha... Anyway Alisha has a hot date this Friday with a kid who we met at devotional last week!

We already have like a million inside jokes and are always cracking each other up, our other roommates always ask us what is wrong. We enjoy frequent dance parties, late night subway runs, soccer, movies, we went to a Jon Schmid concert two weeks ago which was super good as well.

We enjoy the opera singer who practices two hours a day in the apartment next door and the harp selections of our roommate across the hall, never a quiet moment here! haha.

back in the saddle

Well it's been a long week! It has been so fun! On Saturday I flew into Salt Lake City and stayed with Melissa for a couple of days, we had fun going to cafe rio multiple times, thank to mom :) and shopping, blading a fun trail, and watching movies. Melissa is such a great hostess and I love staying with her and Sam! She even gave me a nice present when I left. I then headed up to school and arrived on Tuesday at around 2pm. I was nervous about meeting my roommates because 4 of them were surprises, but they are all so nice! We are all going to take turns making dinner for everyone on Sundays so I better freshen up my cooking skills! We all get along so good and just hang out and talk a lot so its fun. The classes I am taking are New Testament and the teacher seems really cool, Anatomy and Physiology 264 again! since I got an 86% last time I have to retake it to get an A :( My friend Lyndee is retaking it with me though so it should be fun... I love the subject so there is always more you can get out of it. I am also taking Math, English, Jazz, and auditing a ballet class which basically means I can just go take class whenever I want and it doesn't count towards credit so that will be nice. I think I will drop my jazz class though because the teacher does not seem like the nicest person, she told us she was the meanest in the department and that she would only give you an A if she would pay money to see you perform, sooo I don't think I will risk getting lower than that!

Alisha and I met some really cool people that were Caitlin's friends in Tucson so we have been hanging out with them and their apartment. This weekend has been a blur of watching movies, playing soccer, hot tubbing, the Jon Schmit concert and a Mindy Gledhill performance. I just got called as the Relief Society Secretary for this semester so we'll see how that goes! I have never had a big calling like that so it makes me a little nervous!

This is random, but as I was walking home from church today I was thinking about how crazy it is that I am in Idaho of all places! I just feel so good about being here its comforting to know that it is where I am supposed to be, I look back at my experiences these past three semesters and I can really see how the Lord has blessed my life with the friendships I have made and the people I have met. I feel like my every move has been inspired by the Lord whether it be the classes I have taken, the professors I have had, it has just been a great experience and I love it!

Cake

If I never see another cake again, it will be too soon. So my friend Kamala and the food network inspired me to try to make a fondant cake! It is quite typical of myself to jump right into complex things instead of starting with something simple. So I decided I was going to make a 3 layer fondant ocean cake with chocolate cake filled with chocolate chip buttercream, sugar coral and gram cracker sand. I set out to work at about 4 and worked until about 7. I used a great fondant recipe that involved marshmellows and tasted really good. Lets just say, food network is deceiveing because it is not as easy as it looks!! The filling tasted really good, but it was not firm enough so as I layed the fondant, it seeped out the sides making part of the fondant tear. I decided to take off the top layer and make that a separate cake, and then make the bottom two layers into a birthday cake for Rhett, he loved it!

Not quite was was intended... The top represents the beach...

I knew that Rhett, Ethan, and Kade would like any cake with juju fish on it. haha!

Home Sweet Home

I had a great flight home and met the nicest girl on my plane, she is also attempting the nursing major and told me about volunteering at Phoenix Children's Hospital which made me really want to volunteer there when I am off in the winter! I am also going to get my CNA during that time so I can work other places and get a little experience in the field I want to go into. It was so fun to have Melissa here when I got home, so we shopped, swam, ate, and played lots and lots of board games. (by the way I am the "Clue" champion) haha! anyway it was so fun! Then we went to wet 'n' wild the following Saturday and I got an awesome tan! may I just say that 2/3 of the people wearing their swimwear show wayy to much! eh, that is the downside to waterparks. We went to In and Out for lunch, which I missed so much since there isn't one in Idaho! Then we took a break and Brooke and I went back at night. I had so much fun, thanks for the tickets dad! I have also been working at Cody's office a lot for Edward Jones! It has been so nice to have so much work during the break, a great blessing! I also have been nannying for Stacy and her two cute kids. Erin is going to be a neurosurgeon, I mean what kid can spell the numbers 1-11 on command at 2 years old, well shes almost three, but still!

I have also been taking dance classes at my old studio and teaching some so it has been great! When I came into teach the cute(and dramatic haha!) little 3rd graders that I used to teach a long time ago they were so funny, I was immediatly hit with a million hugs and questions: "Brittany!!! You're here!" "You smell good" "I like your shorts" "you look So cute!" "Why did you go to alaska?" "You came back because you missed us huh?" "Why are you going back?" "You don't drink beer do you?" that one was pretty random haha! I love those girls! I am taking advantage of having my car again and drive everywhere! I also love shopping for back to school stuff and can't wait to use my new catwalk shampoo it smells SO good! Its also nice to have time to read for fun now! So I am currently rereading "To Kill A Mockingbird" -love that one! and "A Separate Peace" -love that one too. and a new one "The Help" which I heard was really good. I'm also really excited for the new book in the hunger games series, I think it comes out this month. haha I am such a nerd I used to make weekly trips to Thrifty Joes(used book store) and drag Ally with me, still do occasionally and she hates it haha! SYTYCD finale tonight! I am rooting for Kent or Lauren they are both really good. ciao!

blessings

I would be very ungrateful if I didn't recognize the Lord's hand in my life this past semester, and my whole college experience to be honest, I am constantly amazed at how much I have been given, the blessings I receive, and the tender mercies of the Lord. I just got my grades back from last semester and am happy to say that I got straight A's! except for a B+ in chemistry which I am very grateful for because it was such a hard class, I thought I was going to get a B so that was a huge blessing in itself. This semester I made a goal to go to the temple every week, let me tell you that was the best decision I ever made. I never knew all the blessings that could come from it because my first semester I only went like 3 times. I could physically tell a difference in my ability to learn when I started going, I was able to understand the hard concepts that I had a hard time with before and they came easily to me.

Next, my ward. I had an amazing ward and bishopric and also got a very interesting calling. Relief Society Chorister. When I was called to this I was very confused to be honest haha! seeing that I had never led anything in my life. Every sunday my roommate Katie would show me how to lead the songs we were singing! During being set apart I was promised that I would see the tender mercies of the Lord everyday, and I really did. People would say things to me when I was having a hard day that was exactly what I needed to hear, a lady that I didn't even know wrote me such a sweet message on facebook because she was looking for another "brittany flake" but felt prompted to tell me what she did.

Lastly, my best friends. Jill, Lyndee, and Katie. I have never met crazier or funner girls in my life!! We all met last semester and are all trying to get into the nursing program, applying for the spring and decided to be roommates! I really don't know what I would do if I hadn't met them, they are the best thing about college! I have never had such good friends as they have been to me. We talked about everything, we helped each other through our anatomy class, we studied together at the library for hours on end, Lyndee and Katie went to our end of the year dance showcase even though it was probably so boring for them and took us out to get fro yo afterwards. We made videos, had dance parties. late night taco bell runs, picked up random guys off the street(prob not that smart, but oh well!), pricked each others fingers in lab, gave EKG's. I don't think I can write how much these girls mean to me!! When we were all super stressed we would talk about how much mulah we will make as nurses!

I couldn't have been more blessed and I am so thankful for everything!! I am sure next semester will be just as fun because Alisha will be here! :)

Summer Wish List: A girl can dream can't she?

I'll be the first to admit that I am obsessed with online shopping. But..since being in college I have had to treat this condition, so instead these are the things that I would buy, if I had some mulah!
1. A pair of cropped white pants.

Lately I have been obsessed with gold accessories and light purple, I think its really cute and have seen it around lately. I have never been a fan of gold, but I think it looks really cute with purple.
2. Lavendar Top

3. Gold Heart Necklace

4. Destroyed Denim Shorts. I used to have a pair that were my favorite ever, but then they got a big hole in the butt for wearing them so much.

As an update on lately...Jill and I went to guitars unplugged a couple weeks ago which was fun and Lyndee and I went to the David Arch book signing. I also went to the midnight showing of Eclipse with Katie, Brittany, and Janelle. It was so good! We have been studying like crazy for our leukocytes test, and I am trying to juggle chemistry tests, labs, digestive paper, 6 hour heart test, endocrine, respiritory, digestive, reproductive, and urinary system tests!! ah! I am going insane from studying so much.

We also started to watch all the seasons of Lost when we need a break from studying so that has been fun! Lifes good and I LOVE my roommates!!

We gave Elizabeth a make-over for her BIG date!! Katie did her hair, I did her make-up, Jill lent clothes and perfume, it was so fun!

Poor

It's a sad thing looking at your bank account and seeing that you have $24.66. It was fun being poor for a while, but that was then, this is now. I am ready for my scrubs, $50/hr job, bachelors degree, and New Honda Civic. I have never been one with much patience. Instead I guess I'll have a bowl of cereal, chemistry homework, and multiple study guides. I know this is pretty pathetic and I really should be thankful for this opportunity for college life, but I had to tell someone, I HATE BEING POOR!!! Okay moving on.

Today we had a ward FHE, a flour war. I thought the idea sounded fun, until I was hit square between the eyes with a huge nylon flour sack. (I hope they weren't so cheap as to buy the nylons from DI) Eyes watering, lungs of inhaled flour, and face white as snow I staggared to the side lines and then got my revenge. Overall I guess you could say I had fun, still scratching flour from my scalp, but hey I guess seeing the look on the girls face as my not so good aim brought her a nylon sack straight to the tush was worth it.

I hate you chemistry..Really bad.

You have forced me to spend 6 hours of my friday night in the library and to wake up at 9 on a Saturday, study some more, and go take a 2 hour test. This weekend has kinda been a downer, and to top it off the Suns lost twice and are done with the season :(
Next week is an anatomy and physiology test and then the week after that is chemistry again. I hope it will all pay off one day when I become a nurse, just have to work my butt off for a couple of years. My dance classes have been a relief from the stress of these, I love my ballet teacher so much, she is about 65 and and is more flexible than half the class! She is the sweetest person and talks in a high soft voice so you can hardly hear her, so its always surprising by what witty comment comes out of her mouth. My favorite one was what she said to these girls last week, they were standing in the back leaning against the wall resting while another group was performing a combination and she came up to them and said, "Why aren't you guys practicing? Don't just stand there getting fat!!" I am also loving my scripture study class, I am learning so much from it! At first I thought that it was going to be impossible to study for 30 minutes a day and was going to drop it, but after doing it I realize how much more I learn and get out of it. Each week we have to practice different scripture study skills and record them in a skills log. Our mid-term is to go meet with him in his office, eat cheez-its, and to talk about ourselves. haha! This weather is crazy, one day it snows the next it is 70! It rained all week and I loved it! I love the walk up to the temple, it looks so pretty against the dark sky. My roommates are tons of fun and we are all helping my engaged roommate with wedding plans!

Photo Shoot

So my friend Suz, is taking photo this semester and wanted to take some ballet pictures. She is so so talented and I had a lot of fun, the ones on the train track were actually taken right before a train came kinda creepy, here are some of the pictures from the shoot:

Back to Potato Land

I just got back up here about a week ago, its been good my roommates are super nice, and I am sugar deprived. I am taking Anatomy & Physiology II, Chemistry, Scripture Study, Ballet, and Modern. It's going to be a stressful semester! My Anat & phys class has 240 people in it and about 90% of those are nursing majors! They only accept 30 a semester and the GPA cut off last semester was 3.95! I am so stressed about it! I think this semester will require a lot of time for studying. I went to my ballet class today and found out that for 45 minutes after class our teacher is teaching a more advanced class, I stayed today and it was so fun! There are actually a lot of boys who are taking it and we are going to do pas de deux!!! So that will be super fun! We met our FHE brothers tonight...The first thing that this guy says to us when we walk in is, "can you guys take your shoes off, I just cleaned the carpet." He then informed us he is thinking about changing his major to interior design and has like all these decorations (2 old-fashioned suitcase trunks stacked with a melting candle and ornate open trunk with a key inside) around the apartment. There are also many classical paintings and rugs inside. During FHE he excused himself to go take a shower. When he was finished he asked all the girls to avert their eyes while he ran to his bedroom in his towel, haha. The rest seem nice and fun. Well... I am almost out of food. Last semester all my roommates had cars so it kinda sucks because I have been living off of mac and cheese, cereal, pasta, and cheese.

Surprise, Surprise

I came home from an exhausting day at work, and from teaching dance to find an unexpected surprise, Brooke, Cody, and the boys had come for dinner on a weekday which was unusual. Then Ally kept telling me to go to my room and change because everybody was waiting for me to eat dinner. I went into my room and was about to change when my closet opened by itself and Melissa jumped out and yelled Boo! I was SO shocked I just started screaming half from being freaked out and the other half from pure joy that Melissa was here in my room! I never ever expected this surprise, but it was a great one! I was also greatful that she chose to pop out of the closet when she did, if not it would have been awkward. Anyway we had a fun week of sleepovers, food, volleyball, badmitten, Cheesecake Factory, tennis, and home videos, we also made a funny music video. Those who know me well know how much fun I have filming and producing videos. I am usually a minor role so I this one was a bit different. Unfortunatly during Melissa's visit I came down with a cold so I look horrible in all the pictures taken. :( We missed you ash!

I love Kade! I hope to one day be as cute as he is!

I made this BBQ chicken pizza that is just like California Pizza Kitchen's! One of my favorite recipes. Ashley makes it the best though!

I thought I would also share a product that I am dying to try and will find a way, even if it means eating mac and cheese for a week at college! It is for blondes and supposed to be amazing for damaged hair, make it shine, lighten it and make it look as if you just got your hair done! Oh and I also discovered that nothing makes me happier than driving home from a hard ballet class with the windows down, and singing to loud music on the radio. :)

Since I haven't been able to get a steady job, I have been working for many little jobs such as, edward jones, baby-sitting, school district, respit. So the other day one of the secretaries from Frontier called and wanted me to do cafeteria duty, I did not want to do it, but I did anyway with a big push from my mom. Anyway, the kids would raise their hands and ask you to open something or ask to go to the bathroom, and other random things.

One kid raise his hand and in an angry tone said "That kid keeps eating my cheese!!" He turned and pointed a stubby finger at the little chinese kid next to him. The chinese kid replied in a sad tone "I just really love cheese."

I also was in charge of playground duty. When the 8th grade came out a group of boys and a couple girls came up to me trying to show off, one of them asked "do you date younger men?" Um NO.

I also had my last orthodontist appointment retainer check. While there I thought back on my braces day and defintely do not miss them! I was in the chair next to this kid who had a mouth widener in forcing him to have his mouth open huge and had gigantic braces, he was squirming from side to side in panic, wondering what he could be doing I glanced over and saw his dad standing over him with his iphone trying to take a picture of him that would soon be posted to facebook. poor kid.

American Idol, I am so sad that alex and katelyn got voted off! I think that tim urban has little talent compared to those who were voted off. And I am not a fan of lacy either. I wonder why American Idol keeps Ryan Seacrest on the show after all his corny jokes and inappropriate comments though haha anyway its been a okay week chao

Outdated, just a little

I finally got these pictures sent to me :) thanks melis! haha so I thought I would post them. One of the things I miss most about not living in Idaho is how close I lived to Melissa and Sam. They were so nice to let me come visit so much and I always had so much fun. They were also nice enough to let me come to Thanksgiving with them in St. George with Sam's family. It was nice to have someone to share thanksgiving with while my family was so far away. Here are some pictures,

American Idol

I seriously am in love with this show!! I am so excited for the new season! I really like the panel of the judges this season, at first I thought that Ellen was a weird choice for a judge, but after watching it tonight I decided that she is pretty funny and will make the show better. Tonight a contestant sang a song written by Jason Reeves and Kara Dioguardi called "Terrified" They sold it to Katherine McPhee and she sings a really pretty rendition of it! It is now one of my fav. songs go listen to it!

January

I love to give make-overs, I unloaded the camera and found some make-overs I gave to Ally and Ash, earlier this January. I was so excited that Ashley agreed maybe I went overboard with the eyeshadow. I also realized that I liked Ashley without the make-up better, she has so much natural beauty already :) love ya ash! you are beautiful!

This is Ally's make-over done before heading off to a risque boy/girl new years party...
She is gorgeous as well and has the best olive skin tone and long eyelashes, I am jealous ;)

I recently began training to be an Edward Jones secretary, so it has been fun getting to dress up in secretary clothes, all I need are cute glasses. I have just been happy to have a little work to do because I feel so useless just staying home all day.

Overall, life is good between working, dancing, movies, blizzard runs, late night games with friends, and american idol. I am going to be sad to leave home when I go back to college, but am also excited to room with my good friends lyndee and jill! I have been enjoying these amazing homecooked meals my mom makes because I know when I go back to college it will be bread, salad, and mac & cheese. If I eat cheap I may have enough money to go back in the fall without getting a bank loan, i was also thinking about transfering to BYU-Hawaii for a semester or going there to work!

Good News!

Things here are picking up! Jamie's surgery went really well and Kade is out of the hospital!

I also have some really good news about dance! I was really sad and upset because I thought that I would have to stop dancing when I came back home because there is no way I would ever be able to pay for it, while trying to find a job to pay for college. I had been praying about it, but nothing was happening. Ally, being the amazing sister that she is, offered to pay for me to go to class tonight, annndd when I went to pay for it, my teacher offered to let me assist her in 4 classes and take 4 classes in exchange! Exactly what I prayed about, I love answers to prayers! I am so grateful that no matter what, God is looking out for us because he knows our hearts and desires and wants us to be happy!

Lately

Things haven't been going so well here lately, its really true what they say, it all happens at once and its incredibly overwhelming. Mom just flew to Idaho this morning with her brother Don after getting a call from her sister yesterday that she has ovarian cancer and it is extremely advanced. The surgery is scheduled for Wednesday. The doctor said the surgery would be very complex and he was not sure if she would even make it out of the surgery because they are taking her ovaries, colon, and part of her stomach out. We all cried together all night long last night. I love Aunt Jamie, she is so sweet and nice I wish we lived closer. Her and my mom are extremly close, so it kills me to see my mom cry. This morning I also found out that my little nephew Kade who is only 3, had over 60 seizures this morning and has been admitted to the Phoenix Childrens Hospital. It is so sad to think of sweet Kade having to go through all this and having all these doctors surrounding him doing tests, taking blood, giving him IV's again and again. I feel so helpless, like I have no control over anything. I wish there was something I could do. We prayed and fasted for both Kade and Jamie on Sunday, so I know that everything is in the Lord's hands and I need t trust him.
